you asked for it; we’re going to make it happen

Corinth residents want more options when it comes to retail and dining opportunities. Building a unique gathering space is the first critical step to make this happen.

1. the need

Corinth residents want more options when it comes to retail and dining opportunities. There is currently no central downtown area in the city to gather or host community events. When there aren’t local options, our community's economic stability suffers when residents leave to spend money outside the city.

2. invest

We need to invest in Corinth to make our community more attractive to retailers and restaurants. Private investment typically follows public investment. The City must take the first step to make our community attractive to private investors.

3. build

Building a unique gathering space is the first critical step to make this happen. Restaurants and retailers are more likely fill empty storefronts in an area where people recreate and gather. This community space is not only a catalyst to bring in more local shops and dining, but a chance to build something special for our residents.

5. fund

We propose a Short-Term Vehicle Rental Tax to support the space, which will be paid by those renting from Enterprise Car Rental. There will be little to no impact on Corinth’s residents; this will only impact short-term car renters. This tax is not permanent. It will expire as soon as enough funding is reached for the operations of the new place. We considered other funding methods such as sales and property taxes, but determined they were too burdensome on residents.

why is this the most viable option?

Impacts on thos renting cars. Fee expires after sufficient funds collected. Enterprise is aware and agreeable.
